I was at a show a while ago and there was a guy with yearling Greek tortoises. Their colours were beautiful: very deep and rich, not quite like anything I'd seen before. He told me that he supplements their diets with paprika and that's why their colours were so good.
I had heard that bird keepers will do this to intensify the colour in the feathers but I've never heard of this being done with tortoises.
Has anyone ever heard of this before and if so, do you know what the long term effects might be? Is there anything in paprika that might be harmful?
