Most if not all tortoises have the same basic mating ritual. The male will bump or ram the female from the side or rear in what looks like an attempt to get the female to hold still. He will then attempt copulation by climbing the back of the female to try and line up the respective cloacas. The male will hook the tail under the females... (I gotta go take a brake)
