I have a male that I have had for about 8 years. I take care of him about the same way I do my box turtles. However, since he doesn't hibernate I usually have to bring him in during the coldest part of the winter. You don't see to many bell's avaliable anymore. Most use to be imports and had a low survival rate because of parasites. They like humidity and many of them are shy. Mine will come out of his shell if you pick him up, but if get near him he retreats into his shell and hides.
