Yellowfoot tortoises can get kinda big but are still easily a good choice for your humid climate. Redfoots and Yellowfoots are really nice torties, no reason not to consider them.
Leopards are really sensitive to humidity, sulcatas are arid too and get too big, all of the Mediterranean species are nice and stay relatively small, but are northern-climate hibernating species, not sure if that's what you want. Maybe an Asian?
