I was burned a few months ago by someone who did not send me $800.00 in tortoises. If you want the full story go to the BOI at Fauna Classified and read all about it. Search my name tobias76 and it will bring up the story for you.
ANYWAYS, NOW I want to trade someone a tortoise for another tortoise. Straight trade, no cash is exchanging hands. There has to be a safe way to do this. Some of you might say "get some references" or "post on the BOI". This is all good but there has to be a way so that both trader and tradee is safe from being burned from each other. My fear is that we both SAY we're going to ship the animals and then one person doesn't ship them. I end up with nothing and they end up with everything! There has to be some way to make it safe for us! Any ideas????
I already checked all the major online escrow services, cash must exchange hands for them to be of any use. It's too bad they can't take a credit card number and hold it until both parties are happy. If someone gets burned the credit card on file gets charged what they are worth. Sounds good to me....
I've been picking my brain but can't think of a safe way.
Help me help of us in situations like this!
Thanks
Toby
