: try this website.... http://www.unc.edu/~dtkirkpa/stuff/table.htmlit describes how to build a good enclosure, i haven't done it, but it looks pretty simple. I also never tried the rubbermaid tubs, but i don't think they would melt... otherwise i'm sure we would have heard about it. My cage for my hatchling redfoot is wooden, it's 4 feet long by 2 feet wide and a foot high. It's got a sliding glass front that's left open a crack for extra ventilation. The top is wooden also, but is hinged in the front and back and both sides are left half way up. When it stops raining, i will be building him a little summer daycare center in a big kiddie pool go to this site for more information on redfoots and enclosures http://www.geocities.com/~pawsplus/beasley.html and http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Meadows/4159/torthab.html Good luck!
Thanks for the sites. I couldn't access the first one, but it is early and as of right now I am coffee free, so I'll try it again later. building a cage seems like one of those projects that I'll start and half way through I'll regret that I did, but other people do it so maybe I can too. I need to get more info before I buy a power saw.
