It makes my stomach weak thinking of a poor sulcatta getting put into a tank filled with 20 or so gallons of water. The guy said his shell was so soft and water logged. I guess I love animals too much...because I felt sick after hearing that.

I don't have a sulcatta yet, but I have many other herps and will eventually love to get a sulcatta. I think they are beautiful animals. Needless to say, I am always reading this tortoise forum as well as the others.
: : Anyhow, today at my local petshop I was told a very, very sad story and I thought I would share it with you all. This story made me sick when I heard this. The head herp person at this petstore told me a few weeks ago that some ghetto-dressed teenager brought in a very, VERY sick sulcatta. She said that someone had given the "turtle" to her as a gift (nice gift) and for some reason it was acting very sick. She explained her set up for the poor tortoise. She had it in a 30 gallon aquarium filled with water. (yes i know, when I heard this I felt sick to my stomach.) Needless to say the tortoise died. I can't believe how much torture animals go through with people that have absolutely no idea what they are doing. I guess I am lucky it wasn't me working at this petstore....I think I would have lost my job from showing my anger from this sad thing.
: : I know this was a very sad story, but I had to tell someone....I had to get this sick story off my chest.
: : Bye for now!

: Yeah, pretty bad the tortoise was probbaly stolen, shows what types of people their are in this world. Though i dont understand why it makes your stomach feel weak.....it's not that bad...well if you compare it to those who boil em!!!
