Thanks Chiro,
Are there any signs that I should look for when a female is getting to lay?

: : Hi,
: : I have a pair of russian torts that just came out of hibernation about a week ago.
: (SNIP)
: I am continuosly amazed at the breeding behavoir. The females never seem receptive. The males always persistant.
: I have bred them with and without hibernation.
: Hibernation doesn't seem to be an absolute necessity. Mine mate like crazy in the spring and usually lay eggs at the end of summer.
: Others that I know have females that lay in the spring....
