I think you should be prepared for your female to lay eggs sometime soon. I observed my male try in vain to mate with a particular female several times. She laid 3 eggs a few days ago.
I've read that females are sexually mature when they reach about 5" in shell length.
If your female can't lay, she could become egg-bound and die. To be safe you may want to prepare a tub with about 6"-8" of sand/soil mix and put her in it if she acts hyper, etc.
