Hi,
I have a pair of russian torts that just came out of hibernation about a week ago. This is a normally calm pair that has never been hibernated. They are about 10 years old or so. The male is relentlessly trying to breed my female but she doesn't seem to be too receptive of his behavior. Should I separate them or keep them together. He is doing the head gestures and little biting as well. He then mounts her and chirps. Should I separate them and re-introduce them? I live in Chicago so they are in their indoor pens and she doesn't have too much room to excape him. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks,
brett
