Thank you so much for the advise, i probably really worded mu original question poorly( lord knows i made typing mistakes!!) Rest assured that my babies get PLENTY of variety inthe greens that they eat. my local store sells like 100 different kinds of greens that are very tortoise friendly. THey dont like the hay (to dry) and they LOVE the squash and mushy veggies. I only feed them about 2-4 tsp every 2-3 days.

: I agree with EJ.
: Sulcata are grazing herbivores, fruit should not be included in their diet.
: Feeding fruit to sulcata can result in severe intestinal problems.

: If the tortoises can't go outside, then bring the outdoors inside!

: While squash is fine in small amounts, it shouldn't be the main ingredient in the diet.

: Feed a variety of leafy greens such as, endive, Romaine, turnip greens, chicory, dandelion etc with collards and kale in smaller amounts added in.

: As they can't go out to graze at the moment, cut fresh grass from your yard. Snip it into small pieces and add it into the leafy green mix.

: The grass will provide the much needed fiber to their diet.
: Hay can also be offered.

: A small amount of grated squash or carrot can be added in too.

: You can buy say Romaine, endive and collards one week, one small yellow squash and a carrot!

: Feed the greens with a small amount of squash mixed in one day, carrot the next, fresh grass added in daily.

: The next week get maybe endive, romaine, turnip greens or kale.

: Think natural and try to provide other foods too, such as dandelion, hibiscus flowers and leaves, mulberry or/and fig leaves.

: But as EJ stated I would stay away from the fruits.
