I have ?'s about lights - PLEASE HELP!! :)

Okay, I am going to Gainsville this Sat. to buy a leopard tort baby from a guy that I've been talking to. So I went to Pet's Mart to buy a tank and a few other things I thought I would need (including a light, some Vitamins, and substrate) well, I didn't know what lights or substrate I needed, so I talked to a guy that works there and he just confused me even more!!! (I really don't think he knew what he was talking about!) But anyways, I need someone to set me straight here. How many different kinds of light do I need (daylight/moonlight/heat light) What is all this UVA UVB stuff and how long will I need to keep the different ones on? I spent an hour and a half in the store and didn't buy a single thing besides a cute turtle calendar that I found! Oh yeah, What kind of substrate will be best for the baby? I'll ask the guy when I see him on Sat what he thinks is best, but I would like to have it all before I get the turtle so I can have it all ready..
