Hello. I had my new russian since early december but couldnt get around to bringing him to the vet until today. Anyway, the doc says he is in very good condition, just gotta wait till I get a stool sample for them to check for worms and stuff. There were a couple of things that i noticed that the vet said that sounded a little wrong. one, he said not to use anything but newspaper for substrate, due to impaction, but he probably thought i was feeding him on the substrate. Next he said most vegetable are fine, including spinach, but isnt that high in oxalic acid? He also said that mushrooms are fine for them to eat. I never heard of this, is it ok? He said he owns two russians, and this is how he raises them.
Any input?
Thanks
