Active UVHeat has a good bulb with UVB being accurately reported. They got their bulb from a fellow named Weiss from Florida who designed the first bulb. He now sells his own version (I got one from Fred's Pets, Spring Valley, NY; he is in Kingsnake under retail shops).

I had seen some posts in the forum where some of the 100-watt UVHeat bulbs were burning out. I contacted the Bean Farm folks and asked them what they thought (as they are more mindful than most of the products they sell) and they told me that the ballast in the 100-watt is smaller than the 160 and 250-watt bulbs and thought that is the reason the 100-watt bulbs were burning out early.

Fred has had a 150-watt Weiss bulb burning over a large chameleon enclosure for 2 years and it has not burned out yet.

I have not heard any info, either UVB output or experience from users, on the Powersun or other bulbs. I do know that the tortoise I have basks much more under the 150-watt Weiss bulb than it did under a 75-watt incandescant bulb. The 150-watt bulb is further away from the substrate so that the temperature of 100 degrees is the same as when I had a 75-watt bulb closer to the tort to provide the same temperature, so I am guessing that the tort is sensing something else in addition to the heat.

Good luck.
