What is gout?? How can i tell if he has it and how do they get it?
: just wondering if you ever got x-rays to check for Gout? It sounds exactly like my baby that had it except mine wasn't in a tank. Is this guy a reptile specialist? or just a vet that sees reptiles once in a while? How big is your baby? Mine was about 3 ounces when healthy, but quickly lost weight to only 1.75 ounces after he got sick. He was about 3 inches long and we were able to tube feed him water, the tube wasn't big enough to let food through it, but the water is what kept him going as long as he did. i strongly recommend getting him checked for Gout, if he has it, you have no time to waste treating him. Even an adult human can easily die from Gout.
: : Hi everyone, Thanks again for all the advice last week for my baby. I am still really concerned we have been giving him his shots daily. I have soaked him twice a day and did remove the sand from his tank and put down a soft towel. He seems to have perked up a bit more but he is still not eating anything. Every morning after his soak I give him very finely chopped romaine and apple. He even sticks his neck out like he wants to take the food but doesn't touch it. The vet can not do a fecal test because if he doesn't eat he doesn't poop. The vet also told me he was to small to tube feed. Any idea's???? someone emailed me last week and did mention that they too had a sick little sulcata a while back and it was about a week after treatment that he started to eat again, maybe there's still hope
