What kind of heat and lighting are you using? What is the temperture at basking zone and cool zone? You must have adequate heat to help him to function properly. The body slows down if too cold. Post more details and I am sure people can give you advice then.

: My 7 inch leopard I've had for about 4-5 months now has slowed considerabley in her eating in the last 2-3 weeks... She used to migrate out of her hiding area for food about 5 times per week... lately she's only been doing this baout once a week.... and now I don't think she's been out in over a week. I do pick her up and soak her once a week because I'm concerned she's not drinking enough if she never comes out to the feeding area. Is it winter that's causing this or could it be something else.
: I've never kept tortoises before her so I know little about them.. She also seems to always have stuff caked to her tail... is this normal? I clean it off witha toothbrush once a week when i soak her, but it's always right back the next week. IS that normal for them, or is that something to be concerned with? She "goes" all the time, though it's never been really solid... usualyl messy and cakes to her...
: any advice would be appreciated.
: thanks
