You really can't consider this a 'Dangerous' method. Worthless, possibly, but not 'Dangerous'. Do you culture or test every tortoise that is brought to you to determine 'exactly' the cause of the malady? If you do, can you tell me what the average vet bill is? There is not a single vet I know in the US that will perform every diagnostic test to form a conclusive opinion without considering cost. If they didn't they would be out of business. That said, many vets form an opinion based on their experience and the experience of other vets through networking. So diagnostics are not usually performed except in unusual cases. In the case of RNS, the method Justin described does seem to work for whatever reason and is far from dangerous.
