just a thought:
i noticed when i was keeping planicauda that they almost always drank when it was either raining or i had the sprimkler on them. i think they like to know theres a reason for there to be water on the ground. i rarely saw them drink from a water dish or even while soaking, but as soon as water came from above their heads went straight down into the puddle.
i noticed a great improvement in activity and appetite when i put them on a 3 times a week rain/sprinkler.
my 2 cents,
steve
: Thanks Ed. They're hydrated both form my soaking as well as entering the shallow pool I have in their enclosure. How long do you see them fast for?
