: : Problem here Ed is that animals from all sources will continue to be sold in all countries irrespective of whether they are suitable for the climate, whilst there is little or no regulations on the sale of said animals.
: : Can you see a "pet dealer" saying no thank you for your $'s. They see a chance to make a fast buck & sod the consiquences.
: : Hence the reason why they are so many "large Sulcata's" in the USA for adoption. Sure they look cute & cuddly when small, but by the time the owner realises what's in store for them it's too late, & the dealer has new potential prey every year.

: : : Graham, I don't think you should 'defend' yourself any more that Justin or anyone else should. You are also taking a chance with these tortoises lives by keeping them in the UK. You also seem to be taking every precaution you can to minimise the risk due to that chance. Where's the harm here?
