: Anyone who got Golden Greeks this fall, as I did; are you brumating them? How are you keeping them, as far as substrate and temps and diet? Thanks
Mark,
I got two golden greeks in November. I'm not brumating them this year because I wanted to make sure they were healthy before stressing them with that.
From what I've read some greeks don't go through brumation. I've had
two other greeks for several years. I've kept them awake yearly.
I'm feeding mine endive, red lettuce, collard greens in a mixture. I dust with calcium with D3. Clean water daily.
I use a 100 watt light and a heat pad for the warm end of the tank.
Also use a vitalite.
Temperature is 80 degrees daytime fropping to 72 at night.
Also they really love dandilions. Waiting for the spring for them.
Also, I weigh mine frequently since they are new and I want to catch any problems so I can get them to my vet.
Hope this helps.
