: We have a baby sulcatta. I was told by the pet store that this is a dry tortoise and it dosn't like humidity. I was reading through some posts and now I'm confussed. Do they need humidity or not? If they do ..... do you recomend spraying their bedding down to make it humid? What is this stuff about bathing them all the time too?
: I was curious what people recomend for bedding. The pet store recomended "eco earth, compresed coconut fiber expandable substrate". I have noticed that she eats the bedding sometimes when she knocks food out of her bowl. Will this harm her?
: Thanks
purina makes a chopped alfalfa hay package that is very handy and has made a good substrate for my sulcata. itb is chopped up very fine, is very clean, and it is nice because you can leave it thick and they can burrow into it. mine loves to dig in it.i would put newspaper underneath to soak urine.
