What a vet sees is the worse of the worse. Of course the opinion is going to be biased.
And once again there are risks when you add an animal. There are risk to the animal in just keeping it in captivity but there are probably more risks for that very same animal in the wild. The point is each risk has to be considered independently determined by the situation and what each keeper is willing to provide.
