No Rachel Marschangs two papers in 1998 say this isnt the case. Your argument against viral screening (false positives) is also false.

Stuart

: When will the viral screening tests start working, right now they are a crap shoot with alot of false positives and negatives. I have read the story about the keeper who lost the hermans and pardalis. If you mix that many animals together whether they are the same species or not, you are asking for trouble. It seems you folks are making your case for not mixing species around not proper quarantine. Whose to say that if I did not come home with a new greek and add it directly to my old greeks of the same locality I would not have the same problem as if I added a new leopard to the mix. If you follow proper quarantine procedures mixing like species is not a problem or at least no one has proved it is.
