Here is something for you to consider, microhabitat. Think about this for a moment. These guys spend a good deal of their time in burrows. (= high humidity) That does not mean that you should keep them humid. Idealy you should provide a humid area where they can retreat to. So, if you wanted to simulate a natural environment you would provide a soil substrate with a humid retreat. Now you do have to be careful to provide warm and humid or respiratory problems will surely arise.
