Although I agree about the vet check, remember that it is normal for torts to pass "undigested looking" high fiber food items like hay, fresh grass ect.

: hello
: My leopard tortoise seems to be eating a fair amount now (I've had her for about five days). She's eating mustard greens, kale, collard greens, soaked timothy hay, and some veggies. The problem is that she seems to pass mostly undigetsed (or minimally digested) food into her water when I soak her (she's an import-- I know, not the best idea, and I got her basically of the plane form Africa-- and I soak her daily to help avoid dehydration). There are pieces of greens that are still whole, and grass too.
: The tort has a shell lenght of 5 inches or so and she weights in at 1.25 lbs. (which is .25 more than she did when I brought her home...).
: I have no herp vet within 500 miles (believe me-- I've checked) so I'll have to wing it. Could it be due to a protozoan infection (Flagyl)? Any ideas? She still looks fine-- eyes nice and clear, not sticky, strong, etc.
: Thanks
