" I wasn't pulling numbers from thin air."
Yes you were. You wrote "Let's face it, there just aren't 10,000 homes out there that can adequately take care of a sulcata."
I say there are many more than ten thousand homes out there. The number is in the millions. Mr Fife's article or no Mr Fife's article.
"If you have a problem with those numbers, go talk to Fife."
No need for the haughty response. Just unwad those panties! :-)

: Next time I'll list a reference section with my posts.
" How many millionaires WANT a sulcata tortoise? Just because one has the money to take care of a tortoise properly doesn't mean that one wants to or WILL."
More "ought to be logic". You are just looking to borrow trouble, so you are manufacturing scenarios one right after another and writing scripts that cast a pall on everyone. Millionaires not excepted.
"While I have don't have a problem with a person owning whatever animal they like, I have a problem with indiscriminate breeding of a species just to make a buck."
So you are a clairvoyant also? You claim detailed knowledge that X number of tortoises originate from cirumstances such as these. Or is this "ought to be" logic based on your idea that there are too many tortoises?
"There is also a problem with consumers who don't do thier homework before purchasing an animal, or who are unwilling to invest time and money to properly house and maintain that animal."
I know. And for that you want to further diminish everyones' freedoms with more laws right?
