There are two reptile-specialty shops I go to around here. One sells cheaper animals that have not been inspected or treated and offers no warrantee. The other is run by a vet who inspects and worms the animals, charges more, and offers a 30-day warrantee.

I've gotta ask you one thing, though. Do you know for sure that this is a CB russian? I've encountered pet stores (not the ones I mentioned above) trying to pass off wild caught russians as being "from a farm in Indiana" even though the russians were over 4 inches long and showing signs of long term wear and tear, such as would happen to an animal in the wild. I guessed the animals they had were at least 10 years old - and for sale at $39.95!!!

There aren't many CB russians for sale that I've seen. And they have all been small hatchlings, maybe up to 2" in length. And costing well over $100 dollars. I think the kingsnake classifieds sometimes has russian hatchlings for $150 + shipping.

The local "cheap" reptile shop sells russians for about $50. The vet-owned shop sells them for about $90. Both are wild-caught specimens with the only difference being a worming and a warrantee.

Good luck.
