I agree that the proliferation of breeding could cause a problem, not that I ever expect it to reach the magnatude of the iguana problems. With as many that go up for adoption, I am surprised that we have not received any in our adoption program yet. To do my little part, I am willing to adopt one or two sulcatas for use in our educational programs. We have an iguana and Burmese pythons to show the kids which animals are not good pets, and why. We also bring a variety of other snakes and lizards that are better choices to show them that they don't have to settle for the most common petstore finds.
If anyone has, or knows of a sulcata in desparate need of a home, please contact me.
: In 5-10 years, there will be thousands of sulctas this very same size, with a majority of thier owners not wanting them or wnating to take proper care of them. Someone or some agency needs to get control on sulcata bredding and make it stop for a few years. Check out the link. What he states in his post is a classic case that is happening far too often.
