Hi Marissa!
I have seen a lot of web sites that sell loepard
tortoises for approx. $80-$100. Am I right to assume that they are all wild caught? Why are the captive bred more expensive? Are leopard turtles
on the endangered list?
regards,
Ray
: Beware of Petco and prices for a Leopard Tortoise that low...that will usually mean it's Wild Caught (WC). YOu don't want to do that. Better to get Captive Bred (CB). A CB Geochelone Paradalis will go for about $200 near me, and that's only for a hatchling. Where do you live? Your location plays a big part in your tortoise choice, as these guys can get very large at adult phase and should be housed outside. They also exist on grasses and graze...you need outdoor space. Check out the postings below for a bunch of links for Leopard Tortoise info. Good luck and get in touch with me if you have any questions...
