In Reply to: How low can russians go? I have friends who tell me posted by Michael on December 11, 2001 at 17:07:02:

I am interested in hearing from someone who has brumated these tortoises and then successfully bred them in the spring when they warmed up.

Thanks,
--Michael-

: I have friends who say they place their Russians in the refrigerator crisper. I have a thermometer in mine and it says it is 38 degrees in there. At what temperature should I brumate my Russians? I live in FL and the temperature here has been really warm. My Russians think they should brumate as they have buried themselves about an inch below the surface. Normally this time of year they are gone deep in the sand. I need to cool them down and need to do it artificially this year.
: Thanks,
: --Michael-
