This is my second year I've had him. I overwintered him last year for that very reason. I have gradually reduced his photoperiod over the last couple months, and the temperatures in my house have dropped slowly as well. Right now they are 68-70 as opposed to 77-82. And I waited so long to start hibernation because I am only hibernating him until the end of February. That way he can get straight out into the warm weather once he wakes up.
