: Your russian can actually withstand temperaturs well below freezing. The amazing Russian tortoise has a type of "anit-freeze" built into its blood and organs so it can take severe tempatures. The lowest non-fatal temperature recorded for a russian I belive was 3 degrees faranheit. Russians are amazing and complex little tortoises, that go greatly under appreciated! The most common killer of Russian tortoises is humidity and moisture levels when hibernating, not temps. Good luck with your russian hibernating!
