Hi. I would recommend a red foot. They make great pets, and require a high humidity, which you would obviously have in Florida. Sulcatas and and leopards require a drier climate. Plus, sulcatas get huge! Redfoots are more of a medium sized tortoise when full grown. Redfoots run from $100-125 for hatchlings, and I would recommend the central florida reptile farm there in Cocoa. Of course, if you would prefer a different species, they have just about everything, and are very reputable.
: hello i am intrested in keeping my first tortoise. What tortoise is readily availble at a fairly low price and and can be kept outdoors in florida.
: P.s. i also breed fat tailed geckos and am awaiting my first clutch ever
