Ok...well after reading all your posts..thanks for the replys. Well Being from more south than venice and ft myers...i dont see them alot where i live in Fl...but i have contacted people around that area in venice and they now know they are there..but there also isnt much they can do if someone decides to really harm them. They can slap a nice fine on these poeple...but where they live its probably a drop in the bucket seeing as they are VERY wealthy...LUCKILY to make this story a happy ending...we discoved a third really huge burrow on a neighbors property that a new house is being built on. They intend not to landscape and keep all native plants and LOVE the tortoises. So hopefully they will move in to that borrow...as its larger and newer looking...possible a new home that the pair share as apposed to the two separate ones we found.
