For tryiong to get a sick kid to eat, try the following. (And remember, getting a tortoise hydrated is far more important than getting it to eat when ill)
Use the pedialyte, 50%/50% with warm water. Allow her to soak in tes twice daily. Also try syringing a little to get her to drink...insert a syringe (no needle) in the corner of her mouth pointing toward the throat, and see if she will swallow as youslowly depress the plunger.
Food: Try natural items...colors to go for are yellow, red, and green. Grasses, dandelion greens, mulberry leaves, rose petals, cactus, etc. are all good items. I don't know what her diet was beforehand, but offering her items (like strawberries) which are high in acids might harm her gut flora by upsetting the balance of beneficial bacteria, you do not want a tortoise with sterile gut syndrome!
Access to sunlight is VERY important and often stinultates them to eat. YOu will have to be stubborn...tough love so to speak by not giving in to what she WANTS...because often this causes bad habits which are very hard to break.
I hope this is of help.
