I've had 2 ear sliders for 3 years now. I always thought they were two females because neither of them has really long claws. One of them is much bigger than the other though. Yesterday when I got home from work I found 4 eggs in their tank. Half of my tank has rocks on which they lay to enjoy the light. They laid their eggs beneith these rocks. There were a total of 4 eggs but one was cracked. Only the shelf was left. I took the eggs out of the tank today because they keep running around on top of the rocks and I'm scared they'll crack them. This was so unexpected. I guess now I know that one is female and the other male. My first question is how do I tell them apart sexually beside the size of their claws? The second questions is how can I take care of the eggs so that they will hatch. Do I bury them and if so what are the chances that they will hatch. Is it too late since they've been out in the open (in the tank) for the past 2 days. Also next time how can I tell when their pregnant and how can I prepare for it.
I really appreciate any information and help! I'm desperate and have no idea of what to do with these eggs.
