In Reply to: Should I Separate My Torts? posted by Christina on November 15, 2001 at 01:02:57:
Its not always the easiest thing to do, but feeding separately can have advantages, as long as you make sure they stay separate to eat. My Chinese box turtles had the dominant tyrant problem, but 2 food dishes on separate ends of the enclosure, and making sure they get their own food and keeping them away from each other worked. It will take some observation on your part, but they won't end up living alone, which can be depressing for them, as I have witnessed first hand!
Best of luck

: Hi,
: I've been wondering if I should separate my two T. Ibera tortoises. One has grown, while the other has shown hardly any growth at all. Should I be concerned about this? They both seem healthy and active. They are both approximately one and a half years old. They are clutchmates and have lived in the same enclosure for their whole lives.
: Sincerely,
: Christina
