i dont want this to alarm you, but that is what happened with my baby- then he stopped eating suddenly. he lost a lot of weight and i brought him to the vets last week, hes still there and still not eating :( :(
: : I have a very young sulcatta, approx. now 3 months old. My question is concerning his eyes, he only opens them up periodically, and he has to rub them for a bit to get them open. eats selectively but still consumes a decent amount of veggies. This little guy sleeps most of the day. right now in a 20 gallon tank with the hot spot about 88 and cool zone in the mid 70's. I take him outside nearly every day for 20-30 minutes at least and he is very active then. Why is he so inactive? Does anyone know about why his eyes are closed so much? Even when he walks, he has his eyes shut. No appearance of infection..sometimes a little "eye booger" will be on there, but is removed by him or myself. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
: We also have sulcattas. 2 of ours are about 6 mths. old. now. Maybe your hot spot isn't hot enough. Ours is 90-95 directly under the light. Babies need a little more attention than adults. We also have an under the tank heater that is on 24/7. Are you giving your baby vitamins? You should be using a calcium & multi vitamin. Do you alternate lights at night to give your baby a day time and night time? Your temp can drop slightly during the night time phase.
: Best wishes, Cindy
