: The vet informed us it was not a infection. When we first got the torts they were malnourished and small. We fed them a high protein and large diet. Due to feeding them this diet, the female devloped an uneven shell formation from the middle towards the sides. That means the shell is higher in the middle as opposed to the sides. It kind of reminds me of a four wheel drive truck in a sense that when a truck gets highsided( stuck on something in the middle of the truck) the wheels can't touch the ground. It is similar with our female, if she continues growing this way her feet may eventually never touch the ground. She will not be able to move around. We are hoping someone has some good news to help us. Thank you.

I'm not sure what to tell you. Is it acting ok otherwise? If it is diet related you may be able to stop the progress by changing the diet. If it was mine and its eating I would feed it a lot of dandelions and other "weeds" like clover and plantain. Just make sure there are no pesticides and herbicides in your yard. I have also grown potts of clover in my Toroise room. I recall seeing a chart showing the nutritional value of greens (perhaps at slowcoach). I would pick the ones with the lowest protien level and highest calcium levels. Grasses would probably be good but none of my 6 russians ever went for more than a nibble. If its not eating well let me know.
