Kyra, what kind of canned food are you feeding? Canned food is not a recommended diet for tortoises, as most of the beneficial nutrients and fiber are lost in canned food. Also, canned food is full of water. Russians like coarse, leafy greens, grasses,and clovers...the fiber from which helps to keep their digestive tract healthy. I would discontinue any type of canned food, as not only is it not a good thing to stuff your tortoise's gut with, but it is almost certainly the cause of the loose stool.
