Lonely Russian?

I've had my russian tortise for about a month now. I have read that they are very sociable. Do you think that it would be good for me to get another tortoise or are they okay byy themselves. I have mine in a 30-breeder tank. He's got deep soil to burry in and an 80 degree basking spot with a UV light.
