Found on the Highway

Today, on the way home I found a small Gopher Tortoise in the middle of the road. The traffic was whizzing by as another concerned motorist stopped and grabbed it while I blocked traffic. He kindly consented to let me take it and photograph it just prior to releasing it back at the edge of the woods near where it was found.
A truly gorgeous tort.
