Hi John,
I've never kept Chocos but their one species that has always interested me. Most "experts" warn against mixing any species, I must admit that I have kept cb redfoots and sulcatas in the same large yard for years w/o ill effects. Russians is one species that should probably never be mixed with others however. I seem to remember reading something here about Russians wipeing out other species with some form of herpes, chocos are not the most hardy tortoise. Considering the price of chilensis you could probably afford to construct seperate enclosure!
: Am considering the adition of a Chilensis to share the environment of a well kept Russian. My belief is that they share similar needs re: climate, hibernaculum, etc.
: If anybody has had success keeping the difficult Chilensis please let me know.
: Thanks,John Baldwin (New England)
