Every year we have been giving them less and less heat, and every year they start their laying cycle later and later. When they are still laying in June, it is much harder to be there because they have such a long day to start the nest. In the winter they are stuck with shorter daylight hours, it is easier to catch them laying.
I also know people in Phx. who have kept their sulcatas outside year round with no heat, and no problems.
