Hi York,

Well, you have a lot of questions here but hopefully I can direct you to someone who might be able to help. It seems you may have DEFINITELY overfed your tortoises if they are huge and breeding at these ages. I would suggest that you go onto the following website and e-mail Darrell Senneke (webmaster), as he has a number of Leopards and will be able to help you. Another word of advice, make sure your "full spectrum lighting" is actually UVB lighting and not just saying full spectrum. If the light doesn't say UVB, you are not doing much for the Leopards. Also, pine shavings are not recommended for tortoises as they can contain toxic oils which can be harmful to tortoises. Aspen, 100% alfalfa pellets, sterile soil/sand mixture are some recommended beddings to use instead. Check out my sulcata care sheet on this website, most of the info applies to Leopards as well, although I do not have any breeding info in my sheet, it is strictly care. Good luck! - Marissa
