It is not unusual for young tortoises to attempt to breed before their time, I have a male pancake tortoise (about 1/3 adult size) that constantly attempts to mate two adult females. In one of Paulls books I believe he mentions that Don Hamper successfully raised a male leopard to adulthood in five years. Practical Encyclopedia of Keeping & Breeding Tortoises & Freswater Turtles by Andy Highfield is another great book with two chapters on eggs/incubation.
: Hello York,
: First off, the most helpfull book I've come across for my leopards is "The Eight Great Tortoises" by Richard Cary Paull. I believe you can find it at several of the online reptile supply houses... I found answers to many of your questions in that book. (too many to reply to)
: For what it's worth... that's my two cents..
