: : : : Please note dark colouration, this I believe is due to the fact that we in the UK do not get strong sunshine, & as such the carapace does not get "bleached".
: : : : The pics do not do justice to his/their overall carapace shape due to the colour giving you the impression of shallow ridges.

: : : : I will be the first to agree that they are not like "Linda's Annie" in shape or colour but they are still magnificent beasts for the UK climate.

: : : : enjoy.

Nice looking tortoises you got there. However, I have a different oppinion on why the shell seems darker. I have two T. kleinmanni and one is "bleached" in shell coloration and the other one is darker. They get same diet/lighting, etc. so I assume its genetics that determins shell coloration.
