Like all new tort parents, I am constantly questioning the diet I provide for my leopard hatchling.
My tort has eaten nothing other than weeds an grasses out of my yard with the exceptoion of some optunia every now and then and a few flowers. I am starting to question the percentage of the diet is weeds.
Presently Marvin's diet is about 60% to 75% broadleaf weeds. Mostly dandelion, plantain, and clover. The rest is "Grass". (Lots of fescue, bluegrass, crabgrass, and some stuff I can't identify)
Marvin gets about 1/4 cup of this stuff a day now. I have only had Marvin for 3 months, so it is difficult to tell how well I am doing, but "He" seems happy, alert and healthy. He has had aout a 10% weight gain in this time.
So, what are the opinions of weeds and grass? Is there a difference? Are weeds more like grocery store greens than grass?
