no, im not sure, what happened was overnite he went into his water dish, and splashed some water out. in the morning i found him eating it, and i removed all areas that were even slightly wet so it wouldnt get moldy, but i guess there was already some on it that just wasnt visible or something. I don't use anything that can get moldy anymore. When i got my new tortoise (Bumble Bee) I switched to play sand that i baked to kill the bacteria, but he ate it constantly, so i switched to Bone-Aid calcium sand, so that if he eats it, it's good for him (and i don't know why, but he loves sand)

: Oh Gosh! I'm sorry to hear that. I kept Nigel on pellets when he was little. I have Russian Torts on it too...I never had any trouble with it. Do you know what kind of infection it was?
