: I have just acquired two from a neglect situation. One has already been to the vet and is on Baytril for a respiratory infection. I'm sure he was wild caught and looks very old. This particular turtle has been eating raw meat (!), veggies, and fruit (!) for over a year. I don't hold out alot of hope for his kidneys. The second one has been on the same diet but only for about 3-4 months, so I think there's some hope. Also, this one isn't showing signs of respiratory infection but I'm watching her closely. I've noticed that both turts have all four legs sprawled all of the time. They can move them but don't seem to tuck legs in their shells at all. As well, head is always outstretched. Compared to my own Russian, this seems odd. Any clues about this?
